Margate Operatic Society presents
The Witches of Eastwick
Theatregoers need go no further than Margate Winter Gardens this May to see a first class production performed by the award winning MOS. Their latest production is the spellbinding musical comedy ‘The Witches of Eastwick.’
The compelling and hugely entertaining story is based around three females living in a small town in America - the ‘witches’ bohemian artist - Alexandra played by Karen Martin, prim musician Jane played by Laura Watson, and scatty journalist Sukie played by Donna Clements.
The women are frustrated and bored by their mundane lives and have a shared longing to meet the perfect man. These desires come to fruition in the form of a charismatic stranger Darryl Van Horne played by Lee McQueen.
Darryl seduces each of the women in turn and teaches them how to expand the powers they have locked within them. Eastwick’s inhabitants are scandalised!
Darryl’s corruption soon becomes evident and the three women resolve to use their new-found strength to exile him from their lives. Perhaps?
Director Stuart Clements once again brings his own unique style and creativity to this critically acclaimed musical. ‘The Witches of Eastwick’ continues to entertain audience around the world and MOS feel very honoured and excited to be the group chosen to perform for you.
