SIXTIES GOLD 2011
There is no doubt that the decade that also gave us The Beatles will go down in history as being the most imaginative period of music creativity and expression. The artists included in 60s Gold 2011 have contributed enormously in establishing the UK as the world's leading nation in the music industry.
GERRY & THE PACEMAKERS were the first band to have 3 consecutive No1's in the UK charts, "HOW DO YOU DO IT", "I LIKE IT" and one of the greatest pop songs ever, "YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE". They went on to have many more hits through the 60's, none more successful than the absolute classic, "FERRY CROSS THE MERSEY", which has been NUMBER ONE in two different decades.
THE SEARCHERS with their unique and individual sound have maintained their reputation as one of Liverpool's finest 60's groups. With worldwide sales in excess of 50 million, their many hit records include, 'SWEETS FOR MY SWEET', 'DON'T THROW YOUR LOVE AWAY,' 'WHEN YOU WALK IN THE ROOM' and their massive No1 hit 'NEEDLES AND PINS'
Joining them on this memorable and nostalgic concert are The Fortunes whose many hits include the melodic pop standard 'You've Got Your Troubles' and also Chip Hawkes former original lead singer with The Tremeloes, with hits 'Here Comes My Baby' and 'Silence is Golden'.
Don't miss this exciting musical journey through the sixties with some of the great icons of that magical and historic era. |

Beat Up Music presents
JOE McELDERRY
A Timeless Journey
His very own headlining concert at the Winter Gardens Margate on the 6th November marks a very important stage in Joe McElderry's musical journey.
It all began when Joe auditioned for the ITV Show "The X Factor" with his rendition of Luther Vandross' song 'Dance With My Father'. Continually impressing the judges he advanced to the televised stages of the show where he constantly gave stunning performances, week after week. His hard work, obvious talent and his all round "regular nice guy " appeal paid dividends and Joe was announced the winner of the series on 13th December 2009.
Part of his prize, his debut single, a cover of the Miley Cyrus song 'The Climb reached the dizzy heights of the pinnacle of both the UK chart and Irish singles charts. It was another ten long months before his patient fans were able to buy his first album "Wide Awake" which did not make it to the shop counters until October 2010. Unhappy with the slow progress and commitment of his record label and more than uneasy with the direction that they wanted him to take, Joe parted company with Simon Cowell's Syco and embarked on a path of his own choosing.
Earlier this year, Joe made a return to the pressure of performing live in front of a TV audience and was rewarded by emerging triumphant, securing the pole position for the second time in his career. Statistics have since been revealed that Joe was in a class of his own and had polled the most votes every single week that he performed and he accounted for a staggering 80% of the vote in the final of the ITV show Popstar To Operastar.
Joe's recording style is now being developed under the wing of the world's leading record label, Universal Music. A new recording partner, a new direction, a new mentor and a new collection of timeless songs potentially makes the next few months of Joe's ongoing journey the most rewarding and enjoyable of his career to date.
"Since winning The X Factor in 2009 I have been on an incredible journey. My new album is a snapshot of where I am today and I am excited about the opportunity to record and perform some of this amazing repertoire. I hope people join me on my musical journey" - Joe McElderry
Joe McElderry's new album "Classic" is to be released on 22nd August. |

FROM THE JAM
Bruce Foxton is a part of the English Rock and Roll establishment. Most commonly recognized as the bass player in legendary bands The Jam and Stiff Little Fingers. In The Jam, he and drummer Rick Buckler were the driving force, power and rhythm section behind singer, guitarist, and songwriter Paul Weller. Bruce's versatility is evident, taking lead vocals on "David Watts" (The Kinks) and "News Of The World", which was one from his catalogue of own compositions. After The Jam split in '82, Foxton pursued a solo career. He had a hit with the single "Freak" and collaborated with other musicians, until he got the call from Stiff Little Fingers' Jake Burns, staying with SLF for fifteen years, recording four albums, namely, Flags and Emblems, Get a Life, Tinderbox, and Guitar and Drum. In 1994, Rick and Bruce collaborated on Our Story, a biography of their eventful and cherished years in The Jam. Bruce toured with Bruce Watson, Mark Brzezicki (Big Country) and Simon Townshend (The Who) in 2006 as The Casbah Club supporting The Who in the U.K and Europe promoting their new album "Venustraphobia." Bruce is now touring again with Mark Brzezicki.
Bruce is joined on stage by Mark Brzezicki, on drums who is known for his work with Big Country, and is a former member of the groups The Cult, Ultravox, and Procol Harum and musician/guitarist/vocalist Russell Hastings having shocked audiences worldwide with his authentic and passionate interpretation in performance (vocals and guitar) of The Jam's back catalogue. Russell grew up on The Jam and this is evident in his attention to every detail, from the Rickenbacker to the Marshall 4x4 everything as it was and should be. Energy, pride, execution and dynamic.

THE STYLISTICS
UK Concert Tour 2011
After the Spinners and the O'Jays, the Stylistics were the leading Philly soul group produced by Thom Bell. During the early '70s, the band had 12 straight Top Ten hits, including "You Are Everything," "Betcha by Golly, Wow," "I'm Stone in Love With You," "Break Up to Make Up," and "You Make Me Feel Brand New." Of all their peers, the Stylistics were one of the smoothest and sweetest soul groups of their era. All of their hits were ballads, graced by the soaring falsetto of Russell Thompkins, Jr. and the lush yet graceful productions of Bell, which helped make the Stylistics one of the most successful soul groups of the first half of the '70s.
