The historic Maison Dieu has been a place of hospitality for almost 800 years and today boasts a magnificent suite of four beautiful rooms, complemented by historic paintings and splendid Victorian stained glass windows, to seat from 10 to 500 guests. They are:
THE STONE HALL
Founded in 1203, this Hall is particularly suitable for civil wedding ceremonies and formal banqueting, seating up to 300 guests in a unique and prestigious setting. It is also used regularly for themed dinners, presentations, concerts, receptions and exhibitions.
THE CONNAUGHT HALL
Opened to the public in 1883 the Connaught Hall was designed as a grand assembly hall for the Town by William Burges in a style to complement the medieval stone hall. It can seat a theatre style audience of 500 or 300 guests can be accommodated at tables with ample room for dancing. For fashion shows, concerts, conferences and events the Connaught Hall is a popular choice.
FOR MEETINGS & SEMINARS
The Council Chamber and Mayor's Parlour, along with a selection of smaller rooms are available for meetings and seminars accommodating from 10 to 60 people. WEDDINGS & SPECIAL FAMILY OCCASIONS
The Maison Dieu is the ideal venue to add that sparkle to your special occasions, whether it be a wedding ceremony, reception, banquet, anniversary or birthday party. PA & TECHNICAL
The Maison Dieu has a public address system, incorporating a CD and cassette player with static and radio microphone. The facilities have an induction loop for people that are hard of hearing. Internet and ISDN links are also available along with overhead projector and screen. Also, hirers of the hall are welcome to use their own equipment.
CATERING
Thanet Leisureforce provides all the catering for the Maison Dieu along with other private and corporate customers throughout the South East. The venue is fully licensed and offers a wide variety of menus from light refreshments and intimate luncheons to superb banquets and buffets. Every care is taken to ensure your special occasion runs smoothly. Not only do we offer plenty of suggestions for food and drink, we can also assist with other arrangements such as photographers, music, entertainment, flowers, toastmaster and balloons. Maison Dieu at Dover Town Hall is situated only a few minutes walk from both the railway and bus stations. By road the Port of Dover and Cruise Terminal are only 5 minutes drive away, 30 minutes from Ashford International Station for Eurostar connections and with easy access to both the M20 and M2 motorways. There are 200 car parking spaces and a number of coach parking bays within 5 minutes walk of the venue.
